ICSA Level 6 Combat Psychology: Emotional Control
In this final module on combat psychology, we delve into the topic of emotional control. Beginning with the need and importance of cognitive control, we explore the role of the diaphragm in breathwork, tension, and recovery, through a variety of limitation and impingement drills to prepare ourselves. Next we look at the role of neural and sensory overload, through strike absorption, body pressure and breath limitations to identify our triggers and grow our familiarity with our symptoms. Finally we examine the role of selective contraction and post incident care to release the body after stressful encounters.
