Agitated subjects can range from distressed, cognitively delusional, the mentally ill, the substance affected to the hyper aggressive. These subjects can suffer from decreased cognitive and sensory processing, hampering conventional de-escalation tactics, suffer from fixated and looping thought patterns, heightened resistance to pain and be at serious health risk due to dopamine and adrenaline overdose. In this series, we will revisit the cardinal principles of responsible power through the lens of the agitated subject.
In volume 2, we will discuss:
-Verbal looping
-Intervention principles 4-6
-Environmental Control
-Excited Delirium
